A New Way to Manage Non-Capital Assets

University Stores

The Capital Asset Management team has developed a new way to keep track on non-capital equipment. New barcode tags, available through University Stores, can be used to identify and help track university property that is under $5,000—the threshold for qualifying as a capital asset.

Examples of non-capital equipment include

  • tablets
  • laptops
  • microscopes

The tags (item #16570835) may be ordered through University Stores. They are sold in strips of 10 tags, for $6.30.

Who should use these tags?
If you have the Role 6 - Organization CAM Processor role in EBS, or are assigned duties associated with monitoring and tracking assets, these tags were designed to aid in that effort.
