Our Commitment

Guided by our land-grant heritage, our commitment to inclusion is reflected in our values, our student population, faculty and staff, and those with whom we do business.
Purchasing is dedicated to ensuring we have integrated a diverse supplier base into our strategic sourcing and procurement processes. Consistent with university policy and law, we are committed to expanding business opportunities for minority business enterprises (MBE), woman-owned business enterprises (WBE), small businesses, or otherwise disadvantaged businesses—not only because it’s the right thing to do, but in an ever-changing world that requires diverse solutions, it’s the smart thing to do.

Our goals include growing our outreach and educational efforts, continuing to develop a diverse supplier base, and measuring our effectiveness as we look for ways to positively impact the communities in which we serve.

We believe that a strong, vibrant MSU is predicated on our ability to offer business opportunities to a broad and diverse set of suppliers. It is vital to a dynamic university, a more robust economic climate, and, ultimately, a more prosperous Michigan.
