On September 21, 2015, access to the University Services Service Request (used for pickup of parcels and off-campus mail) will be restricted to devices and workstations with an MSU assigned network address. This change is necessary to improve security of the application. After September 21, access to the Service Request from outside the MSU campus network will require the user to establish an MSU SSL/TLS Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection.

How you might be affected:

  • If you are an MSU community user working on a device or workstation with an MSU assigned IP address, this security enhancement will be transparent and no further action is required.
  • However, if you are an MSU community member using a device or workstation that does not have an MSU assigned IP address, you will need to establish an MSU SSL/TLS Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection prior to accessing the Service Request.
